Down Time Reasion
Posted on December 18th, 2004 in Computer, Sitenews by Mumbles
Hello Users,
We apologize for the downtime on the 25th of November 2004. Our DataCenter (www.Managed.com) decided to shut us down due to “pirate” files being on our server. Unfortunately they have not told us where this is as of yet, however it could of been any of our clients. Please be assured when we find the culprit all contact details we have of them will be passed on to the UK Police (Computer Crime Department) at Scotland Yard. We do not tolerate such illegal acts on WebspaceUK servers, especially when our DataCentre like playing “God”.
We have therefore decided that a move to another DataCentre is in need, and therefore we are warning all clients to keep backups of their SQL database’s for the transfer on Tuesday. We will be transferring all files and SQL databases on that date, however the nameservers IP update will take up to 1-3 days, and therefore we recommend you keep daily backups of your SQL database’s (if any) On Monday onwards. If all goes to plan we will experience no downtime at all, the only problem that will arise is the database updates during the migration time.
We thankyou for your patience during this time,
Please note, you can call us on 0870 9303 292 at any time if you have any questions or contact us on our forums @ www.WebspaceUK.com
Kind Regards,
James Parmee Morris
