Oldest first I feal. .
Last weekend was Bromjam
In 1907 Robert Baden Powell had the idea to hold an experimental camp on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour where he brought together boys from a variety of backgrounds in what became the very first Scout Camp. From these small beginnings the greatest youth movement that the world has EVER seen started. Scouting is now available in over 214 Countries all across the globe and has over 60 million members
In 2007 Scouts (and Cubs, Beavers, Explorers, Networkers, Fellowship Members, Parents, Leaders, Friends and anyone else that knows us!) will be celebrating 100 Years of Scouting. In Bromley this is being celebrated with our BromJam 2007 event being held at Downe Campsite over the weekend of 6th-8th July 2007
Which was quite a blast. Some people got very drunk and others not so.
On Thursday i had a job interview, there was 2 positions going but unfortunately i did not get any of them. Though i was the 3rd choice.
Next week is Beltring and me and my brother have been invited to camp with people who have a fare few military landrovers. I should be taking my camera so expect some photos.

A few days ago Josh Jones of Dreamhost (www.dreamhost.com) posted this link up online. http://blog.dreamhost.com/2007/06/28/d-is-for-dreamhost/
Anyway, I was inspired. I promise I’ll be getting one of them thar 8GB iPhone’s tomorrow.. as soon as I see somebody else camped out in front of my local AT&T store, I’ll line up right behind them, with my laptop, EVDO, extra battery, and faithful hound in tow.
And then, after taking it out of the box and ogling it for a couple hours, I’m going to just give it away!
But to whom?!
Hmm. How about… to whoever posts in the comments of this post a link to the (photoshopped?) image that best illustrates (in my sole opinion) the cause for mysterious DreamHost downtime! The cuter the better, the cleverer the better, the cornier the better, the DreamHost logo-ier the better.
So I thought I would enter the contest with the kind of art those of you who have been watching www.alt-f4.co.uk , which isn’t grate. Here it is

And guess what? I got in joint 3rd. I still don’t get an Iphone or the Ipod shuffle but I could get $50 credit on my dh account. Go on .. vote for me. http://blog.dreamhost.com/2007/07/02/photo-finish/

Using the Technology of Today to Build the Computer Systems of Tomorrow
We have all seen the Digg and Slashdot posts about the technology of to morrow; airborn electricity, thought-controlled software, reports of new gamecontrollers to rival the Nintendo Wii and various others. I hope that this article will be able to bring together this entire technology into a—hypothetical, yet possible—system that could be able to control your home appliances and go out on the Web. The article will also provide links back to where the reports of said technology are online.
The system would use 2 main computers (one for redundant backup) and thin clients for controlling the various appliances. The thin clients would usesomething like Microsoft’s table top desktop [1] and be powered by electricity over the air.[2] You could also control the system with a remote of some description. Be this an RFID [3] glove where you touch your wrist with your fingers to move around the menu, or perhaps even some sort of thought-controlled headset [4]
You could use the same remote to control your various game systems with a virtual reality-headset [5] with some kind of glove like the “Immersion Cyber-Grasp”
[6] but, rather than just a glove, a full suit.
There are various articles out there about controlling your home appliances with various projects available, so I won’t go into those here, though I am going to speculate as to what problems using a system like this could cause. One of the main ones is that if someone from outside managed to gain access to the software, they could lock you into your home and deactivate all appliances, eventually forcing you to break in the door. If for any reason there is a power cut and your backup power doesn’t come online, you would be locked in unless a manual way of overriding the automatic lockdown existed. Computers brake down just when you don’t want them to do, so the system would have to be either really easy to perform maintenance on, or have an automated engineer-call-out system to bring help.

If any of you have been wondering if I’ve been working on these since my last post the answer is yes. I’ve got to get my hands on my dads camera and take some more photos of them because i made a tree.
I have also been trying to do other animals and even trying to make 3d shapes out of them but with no success and im also running out of speaker cable to do it with. Someone order me more please :p
Since I posted the last post the website has had almost 200 unique hits the most being around 150 on Friday. I have also received 11 digs the last time I looked. As a fist digg goes I guess its not to bad.

I got bored a few days ago and started to fiddle with some wire from some speaker cable I had laying about the place and ended up making 5 strange winged creatures. I first started calling them wire monsters but then one of the wirelessfm dj’s said they should be named “creatures from the cable department” thanks Joro.
They are basically wire twisted together to form shapes. I might make a tree they will be eating and take a few more photos of them.
